Our team approach gives us the opportunity to allow for collaboration between psychiatric providers, counselors and dietitians in order to offer the best possible treatment for an adolescent or young adult. Every provider at Doorways offers a unique specialty in their training and experience to meet the needs of clients and families. Each of our staff is dedicated to the specialized needs of this age group and committed to compassionate understanding of their culture and struggles.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Jan Hamilton is the Founder and President of Doorways. She is a Nationally Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who specializes in adolescent treatment. Her desire is to provide quality psychological and psychiatric care for adolescents and young adults in an outpatient, faith-based setting has led to the opening of Doorways in 2008. Jan is a Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna approved provider.

Melodee Bosna, MSW, LCSW

Melodee is a Phoenix native and an ASU alumni where she earned a Masters in Social Work in 2007. Melodee specializes in therapy for body image issues, trauma and abuse, eating disorders, relationship issues and identity development. She has clinical experience with substance use, domestic violence and human trafficking. Mel is passionate about healing and believes that all individuals have a unique story which they were created to live.

Teresa Burt, LPCTeresa Burt, MA, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor

Teresa received her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Phoenix in 2003. Her background includes working with adolescents and families within the court system and restoration services. She helps adolescents and young adults understand themselves and make changes in their behavior through new life application skills.

Josh Harper, MEd, MS Addictions, MS Counseling

Josh graduated from Arizona State University in 2006 with a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and spent several years as an elementary school teacher before becoming a youth pastor at a church in Tempe. In 2012, Josh graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Masters in Addiction Counseling and in Professional Counseling. Josh is a Behavioral Health Technician with Doorways and provides individual, adolescent, group, & family counseling. Josh specializes in grief & loss, behavioral issues, addictions, anxiety & depression, anger management, & spiritual integration.

Chase Kerrey, LACChase Kerrey, MA, LAC, Licensed Associate Counselor

Chase has a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Ottawa University, where he also received certifications in Marriage and Family Therapy and Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation. Chase offers individual, family and group therapy and brings experience treating a wide variety of populations including eating disorders, anxiety disorders, spiritual issues, and male identity issues.

Sam Lample, MA, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor

Sam Lample is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Regent University. During the past 9 years Sam has been providing therapeutic services to children and adolescents at Remuda Ranch. He has been a director of a boy’s eating disorder program and also specializes in anxiety disorder treatment. Sam offers individual, family and group therapy with a focus on education and skill building.

Sam now provides EMDR treatment (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) for the treatment of trauma related anxiety.

Caleb Mitchell, MA, MDiv, LPC, Licensed Professional CounselorCaleb Mitchell, MA, MDiv, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor

Caleb received his Masters of Divinity and Masters in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been practicing for nine years. He has worked in the juvenile detention system, in two different intensive eating disorder settings, and in private practice. Therapeutically he has experience and special interests in expressive therapy, spiritual issues, eating disorders, sexual addiction, anxiety, and domestic violence.

 

 

Jennifer Noto

Jennifer Noto, MAC, RYT, Behavioral Health Technician 

After an 8-year career in graphic design and an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The Maryland Institute College of Art, Jennifer decided to focus on Expressive Arts Therapy and Counseling. She received her Masters in Counseling from Ottawa University in January 2013. Jennifer has been a registered yoga teacher (RYT) since 2010 and recently completed a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Instruction program. Additionally, Jennifer is training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Jennifer’s vision is to help provide mind, body and spirit healing to the individuals she works with.

Sarah received her Master’s in Counseling from Arizona State University in 2007. She is bilingual in Spanish and has spent over four years providing counseling services to adolescents and families within Arizona’s Medicaid program. Sarah specializes in working with acculturation issues, depression, anxiety, parent-child relationships, and advocating for individual education rights within the public school system.

Ben Woodruff, LMSW, MDiv

Ben Woodruff, LCSW, MDiv.

Ben received his Masters of Social Work degree from ASU in 2009. He earned his LCSW and EMDR certification in 2013. He also holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Phoenix Seminary with an emphasis in Counseling and Family. Ben has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults in ministry, outpatient, and public mental health environments, and specializes in working with those struggling with depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, spiritual issues, and sexual addiction.

Dieticians

Rachel DaberkowRachel Brogan MS, RD, Registered Dietitian

Rachel received her Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Nebraska in 2003. She worked at Remuda Ranch for over five years treating adult women, girls, and boys with anxiety and eating disorders. She specializes in adolescent eating disorder treatment, weight management, and family education. She is excited about leading adolescents and young adults into a more positive relationship between their bodies and food.

Trina HarperTrina Harper, Office Manager

Trina has over 25 years’ experience in office management services. She has been involved in adolescent and women’s ministries through her church and Young Life throughout her adult life and brings a gift of compassion to her work at Doorways.

 

Bobbie JohnsonBobbie Johnson, Office Assistant

Bobbie has over 30 years’ experience in working with adolescents and young adults through teaching physical education. She has also been a program manager for various adolescent physical activity programs and has worked in various front office positions. She is grateful to be a part of the Doorways’ team.

 

Claire Shortsleeve

Claire Atenian, BS, Office Assistant

Claire graduated from Arizona Christian University in 2011 with a degree in Behavioral Health. She is currently attending Fuller Theological Seminary working towards a Masters in marriage and family therapy. Claire is a Young Life leader in central Phoenix and a kitty lover.
